- Teaching The Teachers session on Sunday afternoon
- Wanting to start teaching West Coast Swing in your hometown but don’t know how to teach and where to begin? Wondering what content would be best especially for West Coast Swing classes? During the Teaching the West Coast Swing Teachers session Myles and Tessa will take you through the basics and point out what you should know before taking the stand in front of the class. You don’t need any teaching experience to participate the session. Taking a part to this session doesn’t mean you have to teach, you can also take this session as an intensive class to study your own dance: how are your basics doing?
- Please note: Due to wishes from Myles and Tessa Teaching the Teachers session will take place after the workshop, and to participate the session you need to have been taken the Blue Pass (10 hours of classes).

West Coast Swing is exploding all over Europe. But the standards for good quality instruction are high and climbing higher.
You want to start teaching WCS, but any responsible dance teacher knows that in order to start teaching a new dance style, he/she not only needs training in the new dance, but also needs to take advantage of professional development opportunities to improve their own teaching skills.
Myles and Tessa’s teaching skills are of the highest standard – they are excellent role models and you will get tons of great ideas for your teaching. Your students will respect you more because you learned from them.
You will feel more confident in your teaching because you will have the correct information and better teaching methods to help students succeed.
The teacher training class will use the concepts discussed in the workshop and explore them on a deeper level to advance your own dance skills, and also discuss how best to introduce them to beginner dancers and incorporate these critical fundamentals into regular classes in a way that doesn’t bore or confuse your students.
You will have opportunities to ask questions, or if you are shy, you can email your questions to Myles and Tessa directly and they will be sure to discuss the answers in the workshop while you stay anonymous.

Workshop has one level.
We expect from you good knowledge of West Coast Swing Basics. You know your way around anchor, stretch, acceleration and deceleration and other things crucial to West Coast Swing.
Myles and Tessa have powerful and proven student-centred teaching method that focuses on experiential learning – learning by discovery. They can unlock new territory in your dancing whether you are a beginner or a seasoned competitor.

We heartily welcome dancers from all over Europe. Dancers coming outside of Finland we’ll offer a reduced price for the workshop (-25 % off).
You can register without a partner. However those registrating with a partner will get in right away, whereas single leaders and followers will be placed on a waiting list.
